Hey all, and welcome to my brand shiny new blog site. After years of writing over at Squinch, I figured a more readily identifiable blog site would be a helpful thing. So welcome to www.philreinders.com
I’m after similar things as my previous blog: a place where I can think out loud, reflect, drop quotes, spotlight insights, laugh at life, post a photo and (because, well, I'm a pastor) look at life through a God-frame. That means we'll talk some theology but mostly look at everyday stuff that may not be seemingly religious but is because it's a vital part of life, and therefore I believe, a vital part of God’s life. All the bits and bites and odds and ends of everyday living and ordinary faith.
So here’s a good quote to launch out with – from an early follower of Jesus, Gregory of Nyssa (so many of my favourite Jesus friends are dead Christians – I know that sounds a little off, especially if you’re a living Christian, so I hope you won’t take offense).
Gregory writes: “Let us remember that the life in which we ought to be interested is ‘daily’ life. We can, each of us, only call the present time our own … Our Lord tells us to pray for today, and so he prevents us from tormenting ourselves about tomorrow.”
